Devon RCMP along with several partner agencies are launching a boater safety program that aims to educate water users before hitting the waterways. This program is intended to provide boater safety education and inspections in an effort to prevent emergencies from occurring.

This anticipated boater safety program has been named “kisiskâciwani-sîpiy” which means “swift current” or “fast-moving water” in the nehiyaw (Plains Cree) language. The naming of this project acknowledges the legal caretakers and protectors of this land and is a symbol of our commitment to continuing to building partnerships with Indigenous communities.
