If you are looking to push yourself past the time trial route, then you have to move beyond the 20km turn around. Once you've completed the time trial route the easy part begins.... flat and easy highway riding all the way back to Devon.

This route takes the rider past a few of our area attractions. Bring a picnic and bring your wallet because you just might want to get off your bike and check them out. Don't let life pass you by, be sure to stop and smell the flowers at the Devonian Botanic Garden. When you are ready to continue to work your way to Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary. This is another great place to stop, do a little exploring, and enjoy a picnic. Both attractions have washrooms if needed. The route is relatively flat with a few small rolling hills and of course the one big one: The Devon hill.
If you are looking for a leisurely ride around Devon, then the Old Town Upper loop is just for you. This route guides you along the north side of Devon through the scenic beauty of the paved trail system. This route also takes you through the downtown core so save some time to stop for a beverage or time to stroll through the shops.
This loop takes you through the beautiful river valley trails which run alongside the North Saskatchewan River. Test your hill climbing and balanced positions on the hills, and take time to rest during the flat areas. It is moderate to challenging...but experienced youth riders can do it. There is lots of opportunity to take breaks and enjoy the peacefulness of the valley. Enjoy the ride!
This popular ride is perfect for those of you who live on the southwest side of Edmonton. The traffic has increased, but for the most part, this is an extremely bike-friendly route. The scenery is breathtaking, and the distance is ideal for an early evening ride.
If you are an experienced highway rider and are looking for a bit of a challenge, then give the South Edmonton route a try. The terrain is not ideal. However, both highways are very busy and don't offer the best for cycling conditions. If you choose to embark along this route, please ride with caution and just enjoy the ride.
If you live in the West side of Edmonton, this is a great evening or early morning ride. The conditions could not be more favorable, and if you plan it right, traffic might even be at a minimum.
