191 Community Events The Town of Devon is gearing up for its 2025 Municipal Election, with the official nomination period set to open on January 1, 2025. Residents considering running for the positions of Mayor or Councillor are invited to submit their nominations during this period, which closes at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025. To file a nomination, prospective candidates must book an appointment with the Returning Officer. This ensures all necessary steps are completed and documentation is in order. Candidates are encouraged to review the requirements outlined in the Local Authority Elections Act to ensure eligibility. In accordance with Section 10 of the Local Authority Elections Act, the Returning Officer will post a list of all nominated candidates and the offices they are running for within 48 hours of the close of nominations. Residents interested in shaping Devon’s future are encouraged to step forward and participate in this important democratic process.
