5222 Community Events Devon is hosting a Canada Day celebration Sunday, July 1 in Centennial Park from 12:30-3 p.m. and everyone is invited! A number of great family-oriented events will be held in the park the afternoon of Canada Day including: Live music featuring Pushing Ginger Old-fashioned picnic games Water games in the Splash Park Our dunk tank Free hot dogs & cake And of course, our annual watermelon eating contest! “Every year we look forward to hosting our Canada Day celebration for Devon families to enjoy,” said Jordan Higgs, Community Programs & Events Coordinator for the Town of Devon. “I’d like to thank all of the volunteers who are giving a couple of hours of their Canada Day to help run the event and keep everything in order.” If you are interested in volunteering to help out with the celebration, you can sign up at volunteersignup.org/4HRM3. In the event that the weather does not cooperate for the festivities, the Devon Community Centre has been designated the backup location for the Canada Day celebration and will feature everything that was planned for Centennial Park except the water games and dunk tank.
