3038 Community Events The Leduc Regional Early Childhood Coalition and Devon Early Childhood Network are proud to bring a pair of child and youth related fun and educational events to Devon this May. Dr. Deborah MacNamara – Making Sense of Anxiety (in children and teens) As many as 20 per cent of children and teens qualify for an anxiety disorder diagnosis, making it the most common mental health issue today. Anxiety can take many forms including obsessions, compulsions, phobias as well as other perplexing behaviours. We cannot treat something we do not understand, and making sense of anxiety is fundamental in making headway. This presentation will bring a fresh and promising perspective to one of our most troubling human problems. Date: Friday, May 11 Time: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Place: Devon Community Centre (20 Haven Avenue, Devon) Tickets: $129 per person (including lunch) Tickets are available at macnamaraDEVON.eventbrite.ca Early Childhood Expo Everyone is invited to head to the Community Centre with your little ones age 2-5 for some fun activities and to learn from local childcare providers, educators and community services/businesses. There will also be an occupational therapist and speech language pathologist at the expo.
