1681 Community Events Council receives update with CSS results during Aug. 21, 2023, Council Meeting The results of Devon’s first official Citizen Satisfaction Survey are now available after being presented to Town Council during their Aug. 21, 2023, Council Meeting. Earlier this year the Town contracted Leger, a Canadian marketing company, to complete a survey of the community to better understand Devon residents’ perspectives on the Town’s programs and services. The survey ran from late April to mid-June with 246 households participating. The survey finding were broken down into 10 key findings areas including: Quality of Life Programs and Services Perceptions of Town and Community Local Events Key Issues & Improvements Information & Communications Town of Devon Website Resident Engagement Council & Staff Value for Tax Dollars Overall, the findings in the survey were very positive and supportive of the work being done at the Town with 89% indicating they have a good or very good quality of life in Devon and 68% indicating they were satisfied with the quality of the Town’s programs and services. Along with this, 87% shared that they found the Town website useful and 86% said they were satisfied with their interactions with Town of Devon staff over the past 12 months. As with every survey, there are always areas for improvement and the Town looks forward to exploring the key issues identified by the community including: addressing crime, attracting new businesses & development, and providing more recreational opportunities. “This is the kind of information we need as a Council to ensure that we can make the best decisions and build a community that we can all be proud of,” said Mayor Craddock. “Thank you to 246 households that took the time to complete this comprehensive survey and congratulations to the 5 winners of a $100 gift card to a business of your choice through the random draw for completing the survey.” If you’d like to learn more about the Citizen Satisfaction Survey, our staff will be on site at Community Awareness Night Sept. 6 from 6-7:30 at the Community Centre to answer questions.
