1554 Community Events Corey brings over 20 years of municipal experience to the Town After a lengthy search, Council appointed Mr. Corey Levasseur as Devon’s new full-time Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at their Feb. 12, 2024, Council Meeting. Corey brings over 20 years of municipal experience in the realm of planning, infrastructure, and engineering, with two of the fastest growing municipalities in the Edmonton region to Devon. Most recently, Corey served with the City of Spruce Grove as General Manager of Planning and Infrastructure for 10 years. Prior to this, he spent nine years with the City of Beaumont as a Manager in their planning and engineering department. Corey is no stranger to Devon as he and his wife Michelle have lived in the community for over 25 years. With both his lived and professional experience, Corey is very eager to work with Council to execute their vision for the Town’s future. “We had quite the checklist for our CAO search, and I am happy to say Corey checked all the boxes that we were looking for through the recruitment process,” said Mayor Craddock. “He is well-known and respected throughout our region, has extensive experience in municipal development, and exceptional interpersonal skills, all of which we believe make him a great fit as CAO for the Town of Devon.” While this is a time of new beginnings, the Town would also like to thank Mr. Paul Benedetto for his service to Devon as Interim CAO over the past 18 months. Paul took the reigns as Interim CAO in August 2022, guiding Council through two difficult budget cycles while addressing their priority areas. Paul was recognized last May as the recipient of the 2023 Certified Local Government Managers (CLGM) Dedicated CAO Award for his high-level of integrity, dedication, and excellence in municipal service. “On behalf of our Town, I would like to express my heartfelt thank you to Paul for his leadership and dedication to bettering our community,” said Mayor Craddock. “You truly put your heart into Devon, and I know that you have set the ship in the direction we need to go.” Corey starts with the Town on Mar. 4, 2024, and we are all so excited for him to join our team.
