3376 Community Events Starting June 9, Devon residents are able to host garage/yard sales again The Town of Devon has confirmed with the Office of the Chief Medical Officer that it can lift restrictions on residents hosting garage and yard sales due to COVID-19 within the Town’s boundaries. Garage/yard sales can be held once again in Devon as of June 9, 2020. Devon residents looking to hold a garage or yard sale must still follow the recommendations from Alberta Health Services (AHS) for preventing the spread of COVID-19 including encouraging physical distancing, proper hygiene and sanitizing the surfaces that sale items occupy. “Garage and yard sales are a great way to promote reusing items in our community and we are pleased to be given the go ahead for our residents to be able to host them once again,” said Ray Ralph, Mayor for the Town of Devon. “If you are planning to host or attend a garage sale this summer, please follow the AHS recommendations for COVID-19 so that we can continue reducing restrictions in the community and move forward in the relaunch of Alberta’s economy.” Next Steps The Town will continue to work with the province to determine when it is safe to relax additional restrictions placed on the community during the COVID-19 pandemic including the closure of the Devon Splash Park. If COVID-19 numbers continue to stay low in the region, the Devon Splash Park could still open this summer for families to enjoy. Stay tuned!
