2710 Community Events Priorities to be evaluated and updated as required over next 4 years Devon Council has set their strategic priorities for the start of their term through a facilitated Strategic Priorities Planning Session earlier this month. These priorities will serve as a framework for the Town and set the direction of the work to be done by Administration throughout Council’s term. Immediate Priorities Council has identified four immediate priorities to be addressed over the coming year. These include: Public Engagement – Looking for opportunities to improve the engagement process between the Town, Council, residents, and other stakeholders to ensure all voices are heard. Growth Strategy – Identify a strategy for bringing sustainable growth to Devon. Recreation Facility – Determine if new funding is available for the Recreation Facility Expansion and then decide to move forward or explore new options. Business Outreach – Look for new ways to support Devon’s business community. Future Priorities Other priorities for Council over the course of their term include: Tourism Strategy Boards & Committees 40 Acres Development Brand Refresh Long Term Capital Plan Imperial Building Indigenous Community Relations “Building our team as a Council was very important throughout these planning sessions and I believe we have a motivated group of diverse perspectives who are ready to work together to make the best decisions for our community,” said Mayor Craddock. “Our first challenge was to find common ground on our priorities as a Council and we are all excited to work with Administration to take these first steps towards addressing these priorities at the start of our term.” Share Print
