RCMP hope to shorten investigations with aid of residents and local businesses

Devon’s RCMP Detachment is asking local residents and businesses to sign up for the Volunteer Camera Registry to increase public safety and deter criminal activity in the area.
The registry asks those with video surveillance equipment to join a list of cameras in the Town of Devon that RCMP officers can call on to deliver results on property crimes in the area.

“All too often a lack of witnesses can severely hamper an investigation,” said RCMP Sgt. Jolene Nason. “This voluntary program will help us protect residents and their families, and the more people that sign up, the more we can reduce crime and keep Devon a safe and enjoyable place to live and work.”

To register your camera, contact the Devon RCMP directly at 780-987-3414. Registrants can sign up or withdraw their information from the database at any time.
