3082 Community Events All impacts on Town facilities in effect Friday, Nov. 27 until further notice Due to the Nov. 24 announcement from the Province with enhanced public health measures to stop the spike of COVD-19 cases in Alberta, there will be some changes to Town operations. These changes will begin the morning of Friday Nov. 27 and continue until further notice to comply with the new provincial measures and keep Town staff and the Devon community as safe as possible. Town Office Closure – Office Closed Starting Friday, Nov. 27 Effective 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 27, the Town Office will be closed to walk in traffic and appointments will be required to meet with Town staff. To book an appointment with a member of Town staff, please call our front desk during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) at P: 780-987-8300. Alternatively, inquires from residents about Town services can be emailed to information@devon.ca and we will respond as promptly as possible or connect you with our staff member that is able to assist. Devon Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) Devon’s FCSS remain fully accessible to the community and any residents looking for assistance with food security, financial challenges, mental wellness support, access to counselling and other community support related information or referrals can call P: 780-987-8300 or email at FCSS@devon.ca. Town Council Meetings Town of Devon Council Meetings will be moved online until further notice and residents are invited to participate through the Zoom online meeting platform. The Zoom link to access each Council Meeting will be available on the Council Agenda and those wishing to be an unscheduled delegation and address Council are invited to email information@devon.ca up to the Friday before each scheduled meeting. Merry & Bright Parade – Nov. 28 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. The Merry & Bright Parade will proceed as planned this Saturday, Nov. 28 and will start at the Town Office at 4:30 p.m. and make its way through Devon, finishing at the Community Centre at 7:30 p.m. Check out the Christmas in the Park Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/devonchristmasinthepark for the full parade route and viewing spot suggestions if it isn’t passing directly by your home. Town Facility & Programs Impacts The enhanced measures from the Province will have an impact on our Town-run facilities and programs. Dale Fisher Arena All public programs (public skating & shinny) have been cancelled and all bookings have been closed unless an organization has successfully applied for exemption from the province. Devon Community Centre All bookings at the Devon Community Centre are cancelled until restrictions are lifted. Programs & Events All in-person Town programs are cancelled until restrictions are lifted. Outdoor Skating Rinks & Gathering Places All Devon outdoor skating rinks and gathering places (gazebos, playgrounds, skate park) must have no more than 10 people gathered at a time. Signs will be installed as soon as possible in these areas.
