3385 Community Events Town to follow province's lead with easement of restrictions starting July 1 Effective July 1, 2021, Devon will be following the lead of the province and face coverings will no longer be required in indoor public spaces in Devon. As per the province, face coverings will still be required on public transit, taxis and ride sharing due to the closed environment of these spaces and to protect those who have not been able to fully vaccinate yet. Alberta's Open for Summer Plan will enter Stage 3 as of July 1 as over 70% of Albertan's born in 2009 or earlier have received at least 1 dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. As of June 28, 2021, COVID-19 case numbers have also dropped dramatically throughout the province with 6 active cases in the Leduc County zone. Please remember that this will be a transitional phase and many may still choose to wear a face covering in public to protect themselves and those around them. As we stated when the Bylaw was first introduced, first and foremost, continue to treat each other with respect when out in the community as you never know what situation another is in or who they are trying to protect. Effective July 1: All restrictions lifted, including ban on indoor social gatherings. Isolation requirements for confirmed cases of COVID-19 and some protective measures in continuing care settings remain. The general indoor provincial mask mandate will be lifted, but masking may still be required in limited and specific settings.
