830 Community Events Fire Restriction now in Effect - July 20, 2024 The Town of Devon has updated the fire rating to a Fire Restriction. Recreational fires in approved fire pits are still allowed. Fire and fireworks permits will not be issued. Smokers burning solid fuels are permitted. Propane and gas-fueled cooking appliances are allowed. This "Restriction" rating highlights the fire risk in our community. Please dispose of smoking materials in metal containers and keep them wet. Do not discard cigarettes in vegetation, on trails, from vehicles, or in flowerpots and planters. Devon Fire Rescue will monitor the situation and make changes as needed to keep our community safe. The fire rating may change immediately based on conditions within the Town. Stay up to date on all Alberta Fire Bans and rating at albertafirebans.ca. Fire Advisory - May 6, 2024 Due to the recent moisture, the Town of Devon has updated the fire rating to "Fire Advisory." All recreational fires contained in approved fire pits are still acceptable. Fire permits will be issued on a case-by-case request. Smokers that burn solid fuels are permitted. Propane and gas-fueled cooking appliances are allowed. The fire rating "Advisory" is implemented to remind the public of the risk within our community. Please ensure smoking materials are disposed of in appropriate metal containers and kept wet. Do not throw cigarettes into backyard vegetation, on walking trails, or from vehicles onto the roadway. Do not extinguish cigarettes into flowerpots, planters, or organic material at any time. Devon Fire Rescue will continue monitoring the situation and making necessary changes to ensure our community stays safe.
