Investment and development are still very much alive in the community as seen with the most recent business expansions in Devon’s downtown core with the construction of a new retail and office location at the corner of Athabasca Drive and Erie Street. Devon Mayor and Council offered congratulations to Custom Goldsmith at a Grand Opening Ceremony on Nov. 16, 2020, who took creative measures to build a beautiful new retail location with adjoining office space that is now home to Riverview Denture Clinic. “We are very fortunate to have businesses like Custom Goldsmith in our community who are willing to invest and add value to the growth and prosperity of Devon,” stated Ray Ralph, Mayor for the Town of Devon. Custom Goldsmith will be celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and has been a staple in the community for many years, having been in the metro region since the ‘80s making unique and affordable, one of a kind custom jewelry for people all over the world. “We hope that in our new location we can add to the Town by bringing new customers into our community so people can see how fortunate we are to be in a small Town called Devon,” says Terry Szott, owner of Custom Goldsmith. 2Ravenz is another business unique to Devon that has also expanded its operations into its new location on Columbia Avenue, offering reflexology, reiki, smudging, herbal teas and other natural products. Owner Jo-Dean Poirier, has been a healer since 2007 with expertise as a healing practitioner, specializing in hormone balancing and natural healing. “We are thrilled to see an increased interest in Jo-Dean and her many services and talents, adding to the diversity and vitalization of our business community in Devon,” says Mayor Ralph. Devon Mayor and Council further congratulate Vanity Box Hair Salon, who has also recently expanded its operation and are now located in the Columbia Avenue Professional Building. “This is only the beginning of the new business growth soon to embark on Devon with over half of the commercial/retail lots sold on the new development on Highway 19, bringing renewed confidence for future growth in 2021,” says Patricia Nicol, Economic Development Officer for the Town of Devon. -30- For more information contact: Justin Janke Communications Coordinator Town of Devon P: 780-987-8302 E: JJanke@devon.ca Patricia Nicol Economic Development Officer Town of Devon P: 780-987-8306 E: PNicol@devon.ca Share Print
