3807 Community Events June 1, 2017 Update Our Town of Devon staff is still hard at work cleaning up Devon's trails since the massive wind storm last Wednesday. The majority of our primary trails have been cleared and we will continue working into June to clear up our secondary and single-track trails. If you see any trees around Town with orange tape around them, these have been flagged for identification only by Parks staff as requiring further attention. These trees are not scheduled for removal. May 25, 2017 Update Yesterday sure packed a wallop with winds of 80+ km leaving a mess across Devon. The good news is that Town Staff is already out and ahead of the game clearing tree debris from our roads and sidewalks. In order to help our residents get their yards cleaned up from the storm, we will be taking a wood chipper around Devon on Monday, May 29 and Tuesday, May 30 and we invite residents to bring their fallen tree debris and pile it on their front curb (not obstructing the road or sidewalk of course) and we will grind it up. Please note - the tree debris must be manageable (not too large or potentially unsafe) for our staff in order for them to grind it up so we ask residents to please cut their large pieces into smaller, more manageable pieces if need be. Alternatively, we invite everyone to take their fallen tree debris to Devon's Public Works Yard at 10 Exploration Drive where the main gate will be open all day Saturday to dispose of the debris. Our trails across Town also took a hit in the storm and our crews are working as quickly as they can to ensure they are safe for your leisure. We expect our asphalt tails to be safe for use Friday and Voyageur Park to be cleared by Saturday. Unfortunately, we will not be able to clear out our nature trails until next week and we recommend those wishing to use them use caution until they are cleared. Share Print
