3683 Community Events Land now available for highway commercial development In a continued effort to promote local growth, the Town has now placed the prime land at the corner of HWY 19 and 60 for sale to attract new non-residential development to the area. Bringing development to this area will fill Council’s mandate of growth that was set in 2017 and benefit the entire community through the addition of new businesses and jobs for Devon residents while allowing for the Town’s non-residential tax base to grow. Devon’s ball diamonds (Field of Dreams) currently located on this land are scheduled to be relocated in the spring of 2021 to a new location west of HWY 60, which will open up the parcel for new highway commercial development. The Town has already been contacted by several parties who are keenly interested in pursuing development at this location in Devon. “Since being elected in 2017, our Council has remained committed to looking for creative ways to stimulate our local economy and attract new businesses to Devon,” said Ray Ralph, Mayor for the Town of Devon. “This land borders both HWY 19 and 60, which is very attractive to developers with its close proximity to the Edmonton International Airport and being located on a high load corridor. It is also a natural expansion for light industrial growth of the Devon Industrial Park.” In addition to bringing in development south of Devon, the sale of these lands will also bolster additional interest in other lands that the Town has acquired including the parcels west of HWY 60, with the 32-acre development previously revealed continuing to have strong, active interest.
