401 Community Events Applications open until Dec. 1 at devon.ca/boards The Town of Devon is inviting skilled and knowledgeable community members to apply to join a dedicated Task Force to help determine the future of the former Esso Imperial Oil Building. This new Task Force will consist of up to three individuals with expertise in areas such as building construction/repurposing, infrastructure assessment and demolition. The selected volunteers will play a crucial role in evaluating the building and providing recommendations to Council on its future use. About the Task Force The Task Force will be tasked with a thorough review of existing documents, a complete evaluation of the building, and direct consultations with staff. This effort will culminate in an evidence-based recommendation to Council regarding the building’s future. The commitment will span approximately three months, with meetings held as needed to complete the assessment process. Required Qualifications Council is looking for highly skilled individuals with backgrounds in: Building construction and assessment Repurposing or reconstruction of existing structures Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within buildings Demolition processes and best practices Selected candidates will have a unique opportunity to apply their expertise in a meaningful way to benefit the Devon community. How to Apply Those interested in serving on this Task Force are invited to submit an application detailing their qualifications and relevant experience. Selected Task Force members will be supported by a dedicated Town of Devon staff member and will provide Council with updates throughout the process. Applications are due by Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024.
