2150 Community Events Ceremony & Meal to be held on Aug. 23 and Community Gathering on Aug. 27 The Town of Devon, in partnership with kisipatinahk, neyaskweyahk, nipisikopahk, akamihk and maskêkosihk, is proud to announce the Town’s second Treaty Six Day with events taking place on Aug. 23 and Aug. 27. Treaty Six Day Ceremony and Soup & Bannock – August 23, 2022 The Treaty Six Day Ceremony and Soup & Bannock is open to everyone and invites residents to meet neighbours in the Devon community, as well as the Treaty Six Nations of maskêkosihk, kisipatinahk, neyaskweyahk, akamihk, nipisikopahk and the Métis community. Soup and Bannock will be available to all attendees. Date: Aug. 23, 2022 Time: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Place: Voyageur Park (Secret Park) Treaty Six Day Gathering – August 27, 2022 On Saturday, Aug. 27, the Town will be hosting a community celebration focused on Treaty education, awareness, and Indigenous cultures, knowledge, and history. This gathering will include tipi raising, guest speakers, pow-wow performances, hand games, Métis fiddling, knowledge sharing and presentations. Kids activities, artisan vendors and food trucks will also be at the event. Treaty Six Day attendees are asked to bring a food bank donation to this event in lieu of admission. Food bank donations will be provided to the Nations who we have partnered with on this gathering.
