Town looking for feedback to provide best service possible to the community

The Town is pleased to announce a partnership with the Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) that will bring a transit pilot project to Devon this summer. This pilot will see a bus offered on weekday mornings and evenings to provide Devon residents with a new option for getting to and from Edmonton.

During the pilot, there will be no charge to access transit from Devon to Edmonton and back and commuters will only be required to pay ETS fares for transit on the Century Park LRT or if transferring to another bus. Information about ETS fares is available at edmonton.ca/ets/fares-passes.aspx.

Take our Transit Survey

Please take a moment to fill out our short 2-minute survey and help us plan the best route possible to suit Devon’s needs during the pilot project. The survey will remain open until Monday, June 28.

The two routes being considered include a shorter route from Devon directly to the Century Park LRT (about 35 mins) and a slightly longer route with a stop at the Edmonton International Airport Outlet Mall before going to the Century Park LRT (about 45 mins).

"Bringing reliable transit to Devon has long been a priority for our Council as there are currently no affordable transit options for our residents looking to commute regularly to Edmonton," said Ray Ralph, Mayor for the Town of Devon. "We need your feedback on this pilot to ensure we are providing the transit service that will best suit our community and we are looking forward to this foundational step into Devon's transit future."

Edmonton Metropolitan Transit Service Commission (EMTSC)

In January 2021, Devon officially joined the Edmonton Metropolitan Transit Services Commission (EMTSC) along with seven other municipalities in the region. Work has begun with the EMTSC on a regional transit model which plans to bring service to member municipalities by the fall of 2022.

In the meantime, the Town will continue its partnership with ETS through this transit pilot program to build ridership and determine the level of transit service required for the Devon community.
