Winter Walk Day rescheduled for Feb. 13

Community Events

Due to the frigid temperatures we're experiencing this week, we have rescheduled Winter Walk Day to Wednesday, February 13.

Join us in committing to at least a 15 minute walk outdoors and stop by the Town Office for a hot chocolate and other giveaways and join in with a group of walkers leaving every 15 minutes from the Town Office between 11:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m.

Can't make it to the Town of Devon Office for the afternoon walk? We encourage everyone to participate in a DIY walk at a time and place that best works for you. All participants are encouraged to submit their walk time and distance to events@devon.ca, phone it in to our Events Coordinator at 780-987-8332, post it in our Facebook event below or fill out a ballot at the Town of Devon Office. Those who submit their walk time and distance will be entered into a draw to win a prize.

If anyone chooses to walk outside on the original Winter Walk Day on Feb. 6 (assuming they have the appropriate clothing to do so safely) they are still welcome to submit their walk time and distance by any of the above methods. The draw will be postponed to Friday, Feb. 15 to allow everyone to get out and walk in some slightly less bone-chilling weather.

On Feb. 13, Everyone’s Community Bus will be going to the Southgate Mall (10 a.m. - 3 p.m.), weather dependent, for mall-walking. Space is limited; $15 return trip.

And don't forge to share your winter walking photos!
