Each spring and fall, the Town of Devon hosts its annual Treasure Hunt and Large Item Pick Up.
The Treasure Hunt gives residents the opportunity to put any unwanted, but usable items out the weekend before Large Item Pick Up. Residents are then invited to go around Town to see what treasures are available in hopes of giving these items a new home.
Treasure Hunt items are to be placed where waste carts are normally picked up. Items that residents do not want taken should be completely removed from the curbside collection pick up area or clearly labelled with "Do not collect". Happy hunting Devon!
The Large Item Pick Up event is available to all residents with curbside service. Residents are invited to leave all large items they would like to get rid of out in their regular curbside collection location by 7 a.m. on their regular pick up day.
Please ensure you have one meter between large items and garbage carts and items you DO NOT want removed are completely removed from the collection area or clearly labelled with "Do not collect". Items placed in garbage bags outside of a waste cart or closed containers that can't be identified will not be picked up.
There is a limit of 4 large items per household.
Additional items may be dropped off at the Recycle Depot free of charge during Large Item Pick Up Week.
During Large Item Pick Up week (May 4-11, Sept. 13-21), the Devon Recycling Depot will waive all user fees for residents with a maximum of one pick-up truck per day. During this week, the Recycling Depot offers extended hours:
These items will not be picked up, but are accepted at the Recycle Depot free of charge during Large Item Pick Up week:
