Shred It & Forget It! – Devon’s First-Ever Community Shred Event

The Town of Devon is excited to host its first-ever community shred event: Shred It & Forget It!

This FREE event is open to everyone and provides a safe, secure way to dispose of personal and confidential documents. We're partnering with EnviroShred, whose state-of-the-art mobile shredding trucks are RCMP-vetted and fully secure—giving you peace of mind while clearing the clutter.

Make it a one-stop, hassle-free drop-off!


Event Details:

Date: Saturday, June 28
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Location: Devon Community Centre Parking Lot (north side by the Depot)
Cost: FREE


Event Guidelines:

  • Limit of 10 banker boxes per participant (including businesses)

  • Material will only be accepted during event hours or until the truck is full

  • No return trips with additional material are permitted


What to Shred? 8 Documents you should be shredding:

  • Junk Mail

  • Medical perscription labels

  • Photos and old IDs

  • Travel itineraries

  • Shipping labels

  •  Memos and notes

  • Resumes and CVs

  • Bank statements and canceled checks

When in doubt, have it shredded and then you can forget it!

Land Acknowledgement

The Town of Devon acknowledges the land we are on, Treaty Six territory and the homeland of the Métis, which encompasses the traditional lands of the Cree (nehiyawak), Blackfoot (niitsitapi), Nakota (isga), Anishinaabe (anishinaabeg), and Métis (michif) Peoples, who are the legal caretakers and protectors of the lands and waters, and who have been here since time immemorial.

We acknowledge that Devon is within the traditional lands and territories of kiskayôs (Bobtail) and maskêkosihk (Enoch Cree) First Nations. We shall continue to uphold our Treaty responsibilities to all Peoples of Treaty Six and continue to work with all Indigenous Peoples towards a better future together.
